Every year on October 14, the world scientific and technological community celebrates World Standardization Day.

Since 2000, this day has been a professional holiday in the Republic of Belarus - Standardization Day, emphasizing the strategic value of this activity for the state, economy and society, recognizing the contribution of thousands of specialists to its development.

Every year, a holiday around the world is held under a specific motto. In 2019, it sounds like this: "Video technology standards create a global platform."

In their traditional message, the leaders of three leading international standardization organizations - IEC, ISO and ITU - note: “The innovations of recent decades have led to a huge leap in improving video quality. Video technology has also become more accessible, helping people around the world share their stories through vivid images. These achievements are made possible by international standards. ”

Traditionally, on the occasion of Standardization Day and World Standardization Day, Gosstandart organizations will hold open days, business meetings, seminars, and other events. Their main goal is to draw attention to activities in the field of technical regulation and standardization, to improve the quality and competitiveness of domestic products, to reflect the role of standards in modern society.
